Seven Players In Double Figures Guide UCR To 94-48 Win Over La Sierra

Riverside, CA - Seven players scored in double figures and two added double-digit rebounding performances as the UC Riverside men's basketball team cruised to a 94-48 victory over the La Sierra Golden Eagles on Tuesday evening in non-conference action at the Student Recreation Center.
Kevin Bradshaw scored 13 points and grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds while BJ Shearry added 12 points and tied his career-best with 11 boards for the Highlanders, who improve to 6-7 on the season and 4-0 at the friendly confines of the Student Rec Center.
UCR struggled out of the gate and fell behind 9-7 after five minutes of play, but the offensive started getting hot as they outscored the Golden Eagles (2-10) 28-1 over the next 10 minutes to take a 35-10 lead with 5:11 left in the period.
The Highlanders entered the break up 48-16, and in the second half led by as many as 50 points en route to their 94-48 win.
UC Riverside limited La Sierra to just 27.4 percent shooting from the field while hitting nearly half (48.7 percent) of its shots. The Highlanders were also dominant on the boards, grabbing 56 compared to 34 for the Golden Eagles.
UCR's 94 points scored is the most all season and the most since the squad put up 94 against UC Davis on March 4, 2006.
The Highlanders return to Big West Conference play on Saturday, January 8 as they host Cal State Fullerton on Fox Sports Prime Ticket at 7:30 pm at the Student Rec Center in Riverside.
