Women's Soccer Bounces Back With 2-0 Win Over Southern Utah

Riverside—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team wrapped up a four-match home stand Sunday afternoon with a 2-0 victory vs. Southern Utah. (Box Score)
The Highlanders jumping out to a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute of play as Southern Utah was called for a hand ball in their defensive end setting up a Kayde Hensley’s penalty kick. She connected on the attempt for her third score of the season.
The Highlanders went up 2-0 in the second half on a give-and-go from Maurisa Jones to Vanessa Ybarra.
Jessica Olafsen recorded eight saves on the afternoon in improving her record between the pipes this season to 3-1-0.
The Highlanders are on the road for the next two weekends beginning with a trip this Friday and Sunday to the Saint Mary’s tournament with matches against Utah and VCU respectively.
