UC Riverside Women's Soccer Season Ends With 2-1 Loss At UC Davis

Davis, CA—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team finished out its regular season Sunday afternoon dropping a 2-1 decision on the road to UC Davis (Box Score).
The Highlanders took an early 1-0 lead thanks to the fourth goal of the season by Andrea Morales in the 17th minute of play. The score tied the junior midfielder with freshman Crystal Lopez for the team lead in both goals and points (9).
Play was even in the first as both teams were credited with four shots, but all of that changed in the second as UC Davis took 11 of the 13 shots after the break.
Taylor Duffner tied the score in the 64th minute taking a Lindsey O'Tousa pass and chipping it over Highlanders' goalkeeper Jessica White tying the match at one.
With 7:57 to go Kristin Holmberg sent a cross through the UCR box. Ashley Edwards got her head on the ball sending the game-winner into the left side of the net.
The Highlanders finished the 2012 season with a 7-10-3 mark including a 2-6-1 record in conference play.
