Women's Soccer Outshoots Tulsa, 16-5, But Golden Hurricane Win, 1-0

Riverside—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team outshot visiting Tulsa, 16-5, Sunday afternoon, but it was the Golden Hurricane who emerged with the 1-0 victory (Box Score).

It was a 7-4 Highlanders advantage in the shot department in the first half, but one of those Tulsa efforts found its way past UC Riverside keeper Elizabeth Silas. Her counterpart, Hayley Harryman, blasted a goal kick untouched through the midfield, and Bradi Hinch outran three Highlanders just outside the UCR box to track down the ball. She then slotted it past Silas to put the Golden Hurricane on top.

UC Riverside pressed for the equalizer throughout the second period outshooting Tulsa 9-1 after the break, but Harryman kept the back of her net clean with five saves for her fifth shutout of the season.

The Highlanders conclude the non-conference portion of their schedule this Friday, September 27 with a home match against Gonzaga. Kick off is slated for 7 pm PT.
