Women's Soccer Battles UC Davis To 0-0 2OT Tie To Open League Action

Davis, CA - The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team battled UC Davis to a 0-0 double overtime tie on Thursday in both teams' Big West Conference opener.
The Highlanders (5-3-3, 0-0-1) outshot the Aggies (3-7-2, 0-0-1) 16 to seven, including six shots on goal to three, but neither team found the back of the net.
UC Riverside keeper Elizabeth Silas recorded three saves to prevent the shutout, while UCD's Taylor Jern had six.
UCR now has five shutouts on the season which is the most for the program since the 2009 team recorded eight clean sheets.
The Highlanders remain on the road this weekend as they travel to Hawai'i Sunday for an 8 pm PT kick off against the Rainbow Wahine.
