Riverside—The UC Riverside Women's Basketball Team is off for a week for final exams, returning to the hardwood on Saturday, December 20 for a 5 pm PT home game against Washington of the Pac-12. The Highlanders are also collecting donated toys from fans that evening as part of the Spark of Love Toy Drive.
UCR snapped a three-game losing streak over the weekend, unleashing a barrage of three-pointers at LMU, breaking the program record for most threes in a game with 15 (

recap). Brittany Crain also tied the school's Division I era record for steals in a game with eight.
Crain continues to pace the Big West in scoring this season at 24.6 points per game, which is the fifth best average in the nation. As a team, the Highlanders lead the conference in scoring at 72.9 points per game. They also rank first in three-point field goal percentage, second in field goal percentage and third in free throw percentage while committing the fewest turnovers per game.
Washington is 8-1 on the season and is riding an eight-game winning streak heading into their Thursday road tilt at San Diego State. Five of those wins have come on the road or at neutral sites, including an 80-68 victory over Florida State on November 27.
The Huskies are averaging 87.6 points per game, and have broached the century mark twice this season already. Kelsey Plum enters the week as the nation's second-leading scorer at 26.2 points per game. She is connecting on 50.4 percent of her shots from the field including 48.6 percent from beyond the arc.
Jazmine Davis (18.0) and Talia Valton (12.4) are also scoring in double figures this season, and both players are making nearly 40 percent of their shots from long range.
