Tyler Cunningham's Two Goals Help Women's Soccer To 3-1 Win Over UC Davis

Riverside—Tyler Cunningham scored a pair of goals and Blanca Barrio added a third as the UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team moved into third place in the Big West Conference with a 3-1 victory over visiting UC Davis.

Blanca Barrio scored her third goal of the season following up a blocked Cunningham shot with 23:58 gone in the match to put the Highlanders (8-6-0, 2-1-0) up 1-0.

Cunningham made it 2-0 UC Riverside in the 50th minute as Tatum Lockett drove 60 yards into the left-hand corner. Lockett's cross found Cunningham right in front of the Aggies goal for her fifth score of the season.

Four minutes later, UC Davis (8-5-2, 1-2-1) cut the Highlanders lead in half on Crystal Crump's third goal of the season.

Cunningham put the match away with 5:42 remaining when she collected a Barrio pass inside the Aggies 18 for goal number six on the year. It was also Barrio's conference-leading sixth assist of the season.

The win was the first for UC Riverside over UC Davis since the 2009 campaign. With five matches left in the regular season, the Highlanders need two victories to record their first 10-win season since 2006.
