Women's Soccer Moves Over .500 With 2-0 Win Over Houston Baptist

Riverside--The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team improved to 3-2 on the season Friday evening with a 2-0 victory over visiting Houston Baptist (view video recap).
The Huskies were undefeated entering the match, but the Highlanders controlled play early, outshooting HBU 8-1 in the first, but they weren't able to find the back of the net.
It was still a scoreless tie in the 54th minute of play when Alexa Bustamante headed the ball towards the Huskies goal, and Amanda Apelian's header made its way past the HBU defense to put the Highlanders on top, 1-0.
UC Riverside continued to apply pressure, and broke through again in the 87th minute when Hannah Wyatt collected the rebound of a Brittany Mata shot slotting it past the Huskies keeper for the first score of her collegiate career.
The Highlanders travel to CSU Bakersfield this Sunday for a 7 pm PT.
