Women's Soccer Falls To Michigan, 4-0

Ann Arbor, MI—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team battled Michigan to a near draw for 80 minutes Friday night, but the Wolverines scored three goals over the final 9:01 to pick up a 4-0 victory.
It was a scoreless match at the half with Michigan outshooting UC Riverside 5-2, and Highlanders; goalkeeper Alanna Guzman picking up three saves along the way.
The Wolverines (4-1-0) got on the board in the 59th minute when Reilly Martin collected a cross from six yards out, and beat Guzman for her first goal of the 2016 season.
As the Highlanders (1-2-3) pushed for the equalizer, the Wolverines took advantage, netting three scores in the waning minutes of play. Abby Kastroll picked up her second goal of the year while Jessica Heifetz and Grace Salvino scored their first goals of the season.
Guzman finished the match with six saves, and continues to lead the conference in saves per 90 minutes.
The Highlanders remain on the road this weekend traveling to Akron for a Sunday, September 11 meeting with the Zips. Kick off is slated for 10 am PT.
