Long Beach, CA—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team dropped a 3-0 decision at Long Beach State Sunday evening, falling into fifth place in the race for postseason positioning in the Big West Conference Tournament.
GAME NOTES
The Highlanders are now one point behind Cal State Fullerton, two points behind UC Davis, four points behind UC Irvine and five points back of CSUN. The top four teams make the conference tournament, which is being held this year at Long Beach State on Thursday, November 2 (semifinals) and Sunday, November 5 (championship).
The Highlanders have two matches remaining in the regular season—vs. UC Davis on Thursday, October 26, and vs. Hawai'i on Sunday, October 29.
UC Riverside scored six goals in its first three conference matches of the season, but has been shut out in each of the last three.
The last time UC Riverside gave up three or more goals in a conference match was on October 16, 2016 in a 4-0 loss at UC Davis (box score/recap).
