Highlanders Fall 2-1 to UCSD in Final Road Match of Season

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of California, Riverside (UCR) Highlanders traveled to the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) to face the Tritons in their final road match of the 2021 season.
UCSD took action quickly, scoring off of a header in the sixth minute to take an early 1-0 lead.
In the 28th minute the Tritons scored again, sending UC Riverside into the locker room at half time facing a two goal deficit.
In the first half, the Highlanders got off three shots and UCSD got off four. Keeper Caela Kaio made one save.
In the second half, the Highlanders fought for an opportunity and created five shots. Kaio made three saves.
The Highlanders found the net as they battled to level the score in the final minute on a goal from Alexandra Hargrave, her fourth for the season. UCR matched the Tritons five shots in the second half.
The Highlanders next match is at home Thursday, October 28 at 7:00 PM. The Highlanders will host the Roadrunners of CSU Bakersfield.
