Box Score NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - UC Riverside faced CSUN for a second matinee at Matador Diamond on Saturday afternoon, falling 20-4.
UCR threatened in the second after CSUN went ahead with a pair of runs in the first, but had to wait an extra frame for offense in the form of Dominic Martinez. Martinez racked up his fifth RBI in his last three games to put the Highlanders on the board in the third, bringing in Jacob Shanks.
Shanks' double to get the inning going extended his hit streak to eight.
Martinez had a career day at the plate early as a Highlander, going 3 for 4 at the dish with a pair of RBIs and a run. Fellow newcomer Alfredo Capacete went 2 for 4 with a run and an RBI of his own.
Game three from Northridge will be at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
