
Highlanders Draw With Nevada 1-1 On The Road

RENO, Nev. - UC Riverside and Nevada took to the field for a well-fought 90 minutes at Mackay Stadium. The Highlanders opened the scoreboard in the 23', and the Wolf Pack converted an equalizer in the second half at 58' to tie the game for the final score of 1-1.. UCR had five shots with two on target while facing 15 shots with six on target from their opponents.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Juliet Savage scored the first goal of her collegiate career off an assist from Daphane Mendez.
- Mendez fired a pair of shots for the Highlanders in addition to her assist.
- Nevada scored the tying goal in the 58', shortly after a corner kick put the Wolf Pack near UCR's goal.
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
- Cassia Souza had five saves on the day, facing a barrage of 15 shots from Nevada's offense. She put 90 minutes in front of the net in for the Highlanders and didn't let up her aggressive defense in the back back half of the game, facing eight shots and making three saves.
