Highlanders Tie Tritons 1-1 on Senior Night

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - University of California, Riverside (UCR) returned to their home pitch at the UCR Soccer Stadium after a three-game stretch on the road to host the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) Tritons in an evening match that also served as Senior Day for the Highlanders.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UCSD took the first shot on goal at 3', it was deftly saved by UCR keeper Allee Grashoff.
- In the 17' of the first half, a Triton wove through the Highlander backline and found the net, opening the scoreline and putting the visitors up 1-0.
- Mimi Dominguez almost scored after tangling up two Triton defenders in the box, but her shot at the goal was deflected off the keepers leg and intercepted.
- Dominguez successfully equalized in the first minute of the second half with a header off a cross from Sarah Mahfoud.
NOTABLES
- Dominguez's goal was her third this season. She led the team offensively with four shots, two on target and one goal.
