HONOLULU, Hawaii - UC Riverside was downed by the University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors, 8-2 in game two of this weekend's three-game Big West series taking place at Les Murakami Stadium on the Big Island.Â
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- Hawai'i jumped out to an early lead with a two-RBI single in the first inning.
- A four-run third inning extended their lead to 6-0.Â
- Two more Rainbow Warrior runs came across in the sixth and eighth inning to extend their lead to 8-0.
- In the top of the ninth, a pair of walks put Jayden Lopez in scoring position and Bubba Rocha on base. Sean Blandino pinch hit and doubled to send Lopez home and put the Highlanders on the board.
- Andrew Rivas then grounded out to score Rocha, bringing the score at 8-2 before the Rainbow Warriors could get out of the inning and end the game.Â
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTSÂ
- Zachary Chamizo led the Highlanders offensively going two for four. He had a single up the middle in the first inning and a lead off single in the top of the fourth.
