Musolf is UC Riverside’s recipient of conference award
RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside Women's Soccer student-athlete Kelsey Musolf has been named a recipient of the Big West's Service and Leadership Award, it was announced Thursday.
Musolf, who played four years for UC Riverside, spent all four years involved with UCR's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
"Kelsey has been a model student-athlete in her four years at UCR and is the ideal recipient of this award," said Michelle Almazan, Senior Woman Administrator and Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Services with UC Riverside Athletics. "As president of our Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Kelsey has served our more than 300 student-athletes with a smile on her face and has guided them in carrying out our mission of building opportunities in life through sport. We could not be more proud of Kelsey and all the success that awaits her after graduating from the top public education system in the country."
Musolf served three years on the Executive Council as Communications Representative, Vice President, and ultimately President, advocating for student-athlete welfare and engagement across campus and conference levels.
The San Jose native was instrumental in planning and executing service and leadership initiatives, including Kick or Treat, the Scotty Olympics, Reading Across America, youth park days, backpack giveaways, mental health awareness campaigns, and critical trainings on sexual violence prevention and drug abuse (NARCAN).
Musolf was recognized for academic excellence as a three-time Big West Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient and Big West All-Academic Honoree. She graduated with High Honors in just three and a half years, earning Dean's List recognition 10 out of 11 terms and Chancellor's List honors three times, with a cumulative GPA of 3.87—nearly a straight-A average.
Musolf appeared in 24 career matches for the Highlanders with 16 starts, recording one assist in 2022.
UC Riverside Women's Soccer kicks off the 2025 season under first-year head coach Mike Dibbini on Thursday, August 14 at Idaho. Single-game and season tickets are now on sale at GoHighlanders.com/tickets.
