Women's Soccer Drops 2-0 Road Decision To Oregon State

Corvallis, OR—UCR fell to 2-2 on the season with a 2-0 loss to Oregon State (3-1). The Beavers’ tough defense shutout the Highlanders for the first time in the 2007 campaign.

Najma Homidi’s goal in the sixth minute was all the offense that Oregon State needed, but Rachael Amon added another goal just after the 34-minute mark, for the 2-0 final.

UCR’s offense just wasn’t able to get anything going as they only recorded three shots in each half. OSU took 17 shots for the match including 11 in the first half.

Deanna Borgelt made six saves in her first collegiate start, but it wasn’t enough against Oregon State’s powerful attack.

After playing their first four matches away from home, the Highlanders return to Riverside for a five-game homestand, beginning Friday with Eastern Michigan at 12:00 pm. Greeting the squad when they get home will be the revamped UCR Soccer Stadium with a new Tiger Turf playing surface.
