Volleyball Searching For First Big West Win At No. 21 UC Irvine Saturday Night
10/15/2009 8:28:52 AM | Women's Volleyball
The UC Riverside volleyball team will face their third ranked opponent of the 2009 season on Saturday night as they travel to No. 21 UC Irvine for a 7:00 pm tilt (live stats at UC Irvine). The Highlanders previously competed against Utah, ranked No. 17 at the time, and Pepperdine, ranked 19th at the time, at the Utah Classic and Pepperdine Asics Classic respectively.
The Highlanders are still searching for their first Big West win of the year, but will have tough competition as UCR has only beaten the Anteaters three times since transitioning to Division I.
Dominique Cowling (pictured) led UCR with a game-high 18 kills at Cal State Fullerton on Thursday night, but it wasn't enough as the Titans swept the Highlanders three games to none.

Larsen earned his first win as a member of the Highlanders in a 3-2 marathon battle at Sacramento State on Sept. 5.
