0-0 Tie With Boise State Runs UCR Women's Soccer Unbeaten Streak To 8
9/25/2009 3:00:42 PM | Women's Soccer
The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team, playing in its first match at the UniWyo Cowgirl Classic on Friday, extended its unbeaten streak to eight matches with a 0-0 double overtime tie against Boise State. Jessica White (pictured) recorded her sixth shutout of the season in the Highlanders seventh scoreless defensive effort of the year.
White is now alone in fourth place on UCR's single-season shutouts list, two behind Tawny Poggio's 2003 and 2005 efforts and one behind Poggio's 2006 campaign. The eight-match unbeaten streak is the Highlander's third longest streak behind the 2003 squad's 12 straight and the 2005 team's 11 in a row.
White and her UCR teammates faced 16 shots on the day, and she recorded seven saves increasing her conference-leading saves total to 54 and reducing her goals against average to 0.38—second best in the Big West.
The Highlanders face host Wyoming on Sunday at 12:30 pm PT.
