Cal State Northridge's 1st Half Goal Holds Up In 1-0 Women's Soccer Win

Northridge, CA—Farryn Townley scored an unassisted goal in the 32nd minute and that score held up the rest of the way as Cal State Northridge picked up a 1-0 women's soccer win over UC Riverside Sunday evening.
The Highlanders nearly took the lead with just 1:49 gone in the match, but Kayla Troesh's shot bounced off the cross bar and out of harm's way.
UCR keeper Jessica White recorded six saves raising her conference-leading total to 85. The Matadors outshot the Highlanders on the night 14-11 including 7-2 in shots on goal.
UC Riverside returns home this Sunday, October 24 for a 6 pm PT meeting with nationally-ranked UC Irvine. It is Senior Nite for the Highlanders as they honor the even members of the Class of 2011 prior to the start of the match.
