Women's Soccer Picks Up First Big West Points With 0-0 Tie At UC Davis

Stockton, CA—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team picked up its first points of the Big West season with a 0-0 tie at UC Davis Friday afternoon. The Highlanders had never lost to the Aggies in the Division I history of the program, and they kept that unblemished mark intact thanks to a defense that allowed just four shots on goal in the match.
Jessica White recorded four saves on the day to increase her conference leading total to 102, and she was credited with her fourth shutout of the season.
The Highlanders had eight shots on goal in the match with Melisa Escamilla and Candis Novis picking up two apiece. Kayla Troesh had one shot on goal and another that bounced off the post with 21 seconds gone in the second overtime period that almost gave UCR the win.
UC Riverside's final match of the 2010 season is slated for Sunday, October 31 at Pacific. Kick off is scheduled for 1 pm PT, and fans who are unable to attend may follow the mach on their computers via Game Tracker.
