Women's Soccer Celebrates Senior Night, But Falls To Montana, 4-0

Riverside—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team celebrated Senior Night Friday evening, but could not send the crowd home with a win, dropping a 4-0 non-conference decision to visiting Montana (Box Score).
The Grizzlies scored their first goal with just 8:11 gone in the first, as India Watane dented the back of the net for the 1-0 score. Chloe Torrers then found Aspen Peifer just before the half, putting Montana up 2-0.
In the second period, the Griz recorded two more goals within a 10-minute span as Torres scored unassisted at the 51:18 mark, and Taylor Rhodes converted on a penalty kick at the 61:03 mark.
It was the final home match for the four members of UC Riverside's Class of 2014—Lindsey Ahmed, Kaitlin Anzalone, Andrea Morales and Jessica Olafsen.
The Highlanders have one more match left in the regular season as they travel to Long Beach State on Sunday, November 3 for a 2 pm kick off against the 49ers.
A win over Long Beach State coupled with a UC Santa Barbara tie or loss at UC Davis puts UC Riverside in the Big West Conference Tournament as either the three or four seed pending the outcome of Cal State Fullerton's match at UC Irvine on Sunday. There are other scenarios that see the Highlanders advance to the conference tourrament, but this is the simplest.
