Riverside—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team exploded for four second-half goals Friday evening to beat visiting Bakersfield 4-0 (video recap).

The Highlanders controlled the pace of play in the first half, but after 45 minutes, had nothing to show for it, as the teams entered the locker room tied at zero.

All of that changed after the intermission, however. It took less then 30 seconds for UC Riverside to get on the board as Amanda Apelian drove into the right corner, flicked the ball to Danielle Lopez, who found Blanca Barrio for her second score of the year.

Just under 18 minutes later, Celina Valencia made it 2-0 Highlanders as Tayler Dragoo found her for her second goal of the season.

In the 76th minute, Apelian and Jade Vehawn executed a give-and-go to make it 3-0 UCR.

Three minutes later, Tatum Lockett ended the scoring after placing a Dragoo pass into the back of the Roadrunners net.

The Highlanders are on the road next weekend as they head to the Beehive State for matches Friday against Utah Valley and Sunday at Utah State.
