Riverside—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team is looking to even its record at 1-1-0 this Friday evening as the Seattle Redhawks travel to the UCR Soccer Stadium for a 7 pm kick off.
The Highlanders are coming off of a 1-0 season-opening loss to UNLV on Friday, August 20. Keeper Jessica White recorded 11 saves on the night, but the Rebels scored with just over nine minutes gone in the second period for the lone goal of the match.
The Redhawks come into the match with an 0-2-0 record after losing to Washington 1-0 in their season opener on August 20 and to Oregon State 3-0 on Sunday, August 22.
This is the second meeting between the clubs as the Redhawks traveled to the Inland Empire during the 2008 season. The Highlanders picked up a 2-1 win over Seattle that day as Tessa Lennala and Heidi Gassaway (Garrett) each scored with Gassaway's 40-yard free kick in the second period proving to be the match-winner.
