White's 8 Saves Not Enough As Women's Soccer Falls 1-0 At San Francisco

San Francisco—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team held the opposition to one goal or less for the fifth consecutive match dating back to the end of the 2009 season, but the Highlanders still found themselves on the short end of a 1-0 decision at San Francisco on Friday evening.
The loss drops UCR to 1-4-0 on the year with all four losses coming by identical 1-0 scores. The Dons improve to 4-2-0.
San Francisco outshot the Highlanders 17-6 on the night as Highlanders keeper Jessica White made eight saves raising her conference leading total to 37.
The teams were scoreles at the break, but the Dons finally broke into the scoring column when Ashlyn Mazur pushed a Rita Hurlbut corner kick passed the UCR defense.
That was all San Francisco needed as they held on for their first shutout of the season.
The Highlanders remain on the road for a Sunday, 1 pm PT meeting with the San Jose State Spartans.
