Women's Soccer Falls In Overtime, 1-0, To Visiting Fresno State

Riverside—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team battled visiting Fresno State to a scoreless tie in regulation, but a goal in the 98th minute by Lauren Lindstrom gave the Bulldogs (3-3-0) a 1-0 victory (Box Score).
Both teams had their chances to score in the first two periods as they combined for 34 shots on the night, 16 of which were on goal.
UC Riverside (2-4-1) keeper Elizabeth Silas was credited with eight saves, but she couldn't come up with her ninth.
Shonice Myers took a corner kick with just over a minute to go in the first overtime period, and Lindstrom rose above the Highlanders defenders, heading the ball into the back of the UC Riverside net.
The Highlanders next match is slated for Sunday, September 15 as they head to CSU Bakersfield for a 7 pm PT kickoff.
