Women's Soccer Drops 1-0 Overtime Decision At Southern Utah

Cedar City, UT—The UC Riverside Women's Soccer Team traveled to Southern Utah Friday afternoon in search of its third road win of the season, but it was the Thunderbirds who snapped a scoreless tie in the first overtime period, coming away with the 1-0 victory (Box Score).
The Highlanders had the better of the play in regulation outshooting Southern Utah 8-5 including 4-1 in shots on goal. UCR also had a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks through the first 90 minutes, but couldn't get past the Thunderbirds defenses.
With 6:39 gone in the first overtime, Shelby Green headed Kristy Hendrickson's cross past UC Riverside keeper Elizabeth Silas and just inside the left post to give the Thunderbirds the win.
The Highlanders return home this Sunday to host Tulsa at 11 am PT.
