Women’s Soccer Falls to Rainbow Wahine 2-1

HONOLULU, Hawaii - University of California, Riverside (UCR) traveled across the Pacific to challenge the University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine to a 90 minute battle at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emma Gonzalez made the first attempt for the Highlanders in the 15th minute of play. The shot was blocked by a Hawaii defender.
- Audrey Stewart scored the lone goal for the Highlanders in the 32' of the first half, finding the lower left corner of the net to put the Highlanders up 1-0.
- The Rainbow Wahine equalized in the 61' of play, and scored the go-ahead goal with less than five minutes remaining in regulation.
NOTABLES
- Freshman Stewart's goal was the first of her collegiate career.
- Allee Grashoff faced 20 shots, seven on target, and made five saves.
